present chamber pieces from the 14th, 15th and 20th centuries. Next, the
internationally acclaimed 90-voice UCA Concert Choir performs "O Come All Ye
Faithful," "Away in a Manger" and "Joy to the World." During the second act,
The Arkansas Chamber Singers - known for performing works ranging from motets
to madrigals to Broadway hits - entertain the audience with renditions of "The

Twelve Days of Christmas." The Vesper Choir takes the stage for the program's

| THE NUTCRACKER |
| Over the decades, THE NUTCRACKER, with its memorable score by Peter
Tchaikovsky, has become the definitive Christmas holiday ballet. Now over 100
years old, it was adapted by Alexandre Dumas from E.T.A. Hoffman's tale "The
Nutcracker and the Mouse King." During a Christmas party a toy maker, Herr
Drossellmeyer, gives Clara a Nutcracker doll that she falls in love with. After
everyone has gone to bed, Clara goes downstairs to find her doll and suddenly
gets involved in a great adventure. This production of the traditional holiday
classic was staged in 2000 and is performed by the Royal Ballet at the Royal
Opera House in London. The Christmas tree grows with breathtaking splendor, the
set design in the Biedereyer style is meticulous and the snow scene is
ravishingly beautiful. This production epitomizes family holiday viewing. |

and the viewers learn about Kwanzaa and the Chinese New Year.B) Franny travels
to a magic show rehearsal where she meets Jitters, a little rabbit who is
afraid of the dark. Jitters is too scared to get inside the magician's hat, and
considers quitting the show. Franny finds a way to help Jitters overcome his
fear so the show -and Jitters - can go on. In Franny's Treasures, the audience
helps Bobby identify daytime and night time activities. |
